Maulid (Mawlid) an-Nabi is an important date in the Muslim calendar. But how should followers of Islam honor the day on which the Prophet Muhammad was born (peace and blessings be upon him)? Festive bustle, losing sight of its deepest meaning? Or should matters on this day fill hearts with an even greater love for one who was sent to all mankind “as a mercy for the worlds” (Quran, 21: 107)?
